Angelika Amon, Ph.D. is an Austrian American molecular and cellular biologist, and the Kathleen and Curtis Marble Professor in Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Amon's research centers on how chromosomes are regulated, duplicated, and partitioned in the cell cycle. She received a 2019 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences given for transformative advances toward understanding living systems and extending human life and for her work on how aneuploidy affects normal and cancerous cells.
