Minhong Shen, a postdoctoral fellow in the Kang laboratory, was awarded the NJCCR fellowship for his research focusing on the role of MTDH in breast cancer. Metadherin (MTDH) was discovered and proved to be an important and universal driver for cancer progression by the Kang lab. Minhong has been working on elucidating the functional mechanism of MTDH in breast cancer initiation, progression and metastasis, using genetically modified mouse models.
