The awards were presented during Molecular Biology's Annual Retreat, held in October. Eric is a graduate student in the lab of Martin Jonikas; Vanessa is in the Burdine lab.

Other service awards presented were the prestigious Thomas J. Silhavy Award, which went to Olivia Duddy, and the MOL Distinguished Postdoc Service Award, won by Xiao Fan.

Recognition was also given to talk and poster presenters: Best Grad Poster--Edna Normand; Best Postdoc Poster--Paola Estrada; Best Grad Talk--Katelyn Cook; Best Postdoc Talk--Nicholas Treen.
