Alexander Ploss receives 2016 Burroughs Wellcome Award

Assistant Professor Alexander Ploss was selected as a recipient of a 2016 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Investigators in the Pathogenesis of Infections Disease (PATH) Award for 2016. The PATH award provides $500,000 over five years to support accomplished investigators at the assistant professor level to study pathogenesis, with a focus on the interplay between human and microbial biology, shedding light on how human and microbial systems are affected by their encounters. Dr. Ploss' grant is for "Breaking species barriers of human hepatotropic pathogens."
