Princeton - Nature Conference: Frontiers in Electron Microscopy for the Physical and Life Sciences

Event Date/Location

July 11, 2018 - 9:00 am to July 13, 2018 - 5:00 pm

Topic

Frontiers in Electron Microscopy for the Physical and Life Sciences

In recent years, electron microscopy instrumentation and methods have significantly advanced. This progress has greatly benefited both the physical and life sciences, from cryo-EM, which was recognized with the 2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, to emerging methods such as low-energy holography and vortex beams. Both communities have developed novel techniques, but open challenges still remain. This conference will explore the interdisciplinary applications of cutting-edge electron microscopy methods and technologies, with an emphasis on identifying and addressing new challenges, and developing the next generation of instrumentation.
