Overview and Hotel Rules The Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University welcomes you to our 39th Annual Departmental Retreat. The retreat is an opportunity for departmental and associated labs to share research progress through short talks and posters, to promote discussion and collaboration among labs, and to renew community esprit de corps. This year's retreat chairs are assistant professors John Brooks II and Cameron Myhrvold. Hotel Rules Ocean Place Resort is a nonsmoking facility and will levy a fee on any room where smoking is discovered. You will bear that expense personally. The hotel has a “quiet” time from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., so please enjoy yourself at our evening events but be respectful of your hotel neighbors. Noise complaints are taken seriously by the hotel. Molecular Biology will not be responsible for damages caused by retreat attendees. While all meals, breaks, retreat events, and room charges are paid for by the Department, any other incidental charges you incur will be your responsibility. Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed on the beach in Long Branch, NJ unless it is part of a secure Ocean Place Resort event. Check-in will be at the hotel front desk. Many rooms will not be immediately available for check-in. Please plan on leaving your luggage in your car until your room is available. Please bring in only what you can easily carry. All rooms will be ready by 4:00 p.m. at the latest. On Friday morning, a light breakfast will be available starting at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon in the Seaview Restaurant. The retreat presentations begin on Friday promptly at 1:00 p.m. Please always wear your retreat name tag so that hotel staff will accommodate you at their restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Checkout is by 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
