Facilities & Maintenance

Facilities supports the department in the areas of Shipping and Receiving (delivery of packages, outbound shipments), the movement of laboratory equipment, whole laboratory moves and renovations, equipment repair (-80 freezers, autoclaves, laboratory glass washers, centrifuges), as well as serving as the department's liaison to Special Facilities (carpenters, plumbers, HVAC, electricians).

Facilities also maintains the University Capital Equipment Inventory system, which ensures that the department is in compliance with government-regulated grants.

In addition, the Facilities staff is responsible for a back up scheme to indemnify coverage of Health and Safety.
