Nikon A1R-Si HD Confocal Microscope with STEDYCON System

An ultra-compact, plug & play STEDYCON from the inventors of STED and industry-leading microscope platform combine for ultimate ease of use, flexibility and 30nm resolution imaging.

STEDYCON allows imaging to nanoscopic scales with over 6x higher lateral resolution compared to a widefield microscope, using direct imaging without the need for reconstruction or post-processing.

The new push-button STEADYFOCUS module is a continuous laser-based hardware focus lock for the STEDYCON, guaranteeing confocal and STED imaging over long time lapse without focus drift.

No additional optics are required in the imaging beam path, making it 100% free of fluorescence losses or imaging distortions.

The DynamicPLUS feature offers unrivaled performance with both STED and confocal applications. The avalanche photo detectors (APDs) have a superior quantum efficiency of up to 69% (@ 650nm). This means that even when signal-levels are low, APDs still collect plenty of photons for a meaningful image.

STED imaging and experiments with low labeling densities designed to stay close to physiological conditions are typical. At the same time, the dead-time compensation of DynamicPLUS allows crisp images of high-signal samples, such as bright confocal images.

Achieve XY resolution better than 40nm using the same familiar labelling protocols used for epifluorescence and confocal imaging.

Best Application/s:

Samples up to several hundred microns thick (sample dependent).  Live or fixed (temp. and CO2 available). Low magnification high resolution imaging (as well as high magnification high resolution).
