Hargett Awarded Fellowship

Danna Hargett, a postdoc in the Shenk lab, was awarded the Fellow-Career Development Award of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Her research proposal is titled "Characterization of the HCMV Life Cycle in Cells of Monocytic Lineage".The main goal of her project is to develop a better understanding of the HCMV viral life cycle in the cells primarily responsible for the dissemination of reactivated HCMV in immunocompromised patients, especially those undergoing bone marrow transplant for the treatment of leukemia or lymphoma.
