Scientific Facilities
EM & Histology
Electron Microscopy (EM)
The Molecular Biology Electron Microscopy (EM) facility provides undergraduate/graduate student, post-doctoral fellow, faculty, and staff not only operation training of EM equipment but also hands-on training of sample preparation for conventional and immuno-transmission EM (TEM), so that they can make their own TEM sample and operate equipment by themselves. By doing so, they will be able to better understand TEM and make a routine TEM sample protocol with their sample.
Histology
The Molecular Biology Histology facility maintains automatic tissue processor, tissue embedding center, rotary microtome, cryostat, and supplemental equipment. The Histology facility provides hands-on training of sample preparation for Histology and Immunohistochemistry with paraffin embedded or optimal cutting temperature (OCT) compound embedded sample as well as operation training of Histology equipment. Trained users will be able to better understand histology and immunohistochemistry for their study.
