We are interested in understanding what neural computations allow animals to dynamically adjust their behavior according to the structure and demands of the environment and how these circuit mechanisms are perturbed in neuropsychiatric disorders. We employ quantitative decision-making behavior in rodents, specific perturbation of neural circuit function using molecular tools, analysis of neural correlates of the interesting aspects of the behavioral tasks using electrophysiological and optical techniques, and computational modeling.
